2022 Lillian Shepherd Award for Excellence in Illustration

The 2022 Lillian Shepherd Award for Excellence in Illustration is given to an illustrator residing in or from Atlantic Canada, or who has illustrated a book written by an Atlantic Canadian or a book that is set in the region. We would like to congratulate Alea Marley who won this year’s award for illustrating Sara O’Leary’s adorable This Is Ruby!

2022 IODE Violet Downey Book Award for Children’s Literature

The National Chapter of Canada IODE Violet Downey Book Award is offered annually since 1985 for the best young children’s English language book containing at least 500 words of text. We would like to congratulate Susin Nielsen who won this year’s prize for Tremendous Things!

2022 Washington Children’s Choice Award

Every year since 1982, the Washington Children’s Choice Picture Book Award has allowed students across Washington state to vote for their favorite picture book from a shortlist of 20 titles. 2022 Crystal Kite Awards

The Crystal Kite award is given by the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators each year to recognize great books from the 70 SCBWI regions around the world. The award is chosen by other children’s book writers and illustrators, making them the only peer-given awards in publishing for young readers. We would like to congratulate Lana Button and Carmen Mok who won the Canadian division award for their picture book, Tough Like Mum!
