OLA Super Conference 2010 in Toronto

Will you be attending the 2010 OLA Super Conference? The conference will be taking place on February 24-27, 2010 in the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

Tundra will be at booth #720 to tell you about our new and upcoming books! You can also come by to pick up our catalogues, posters, postcards, and bookmarks.

We are also hosting author signings at our booth! Be sure to line-up early, the first 50 people will receive a complimentary copy (finished books, unless noted otherwise). The only catch is… you have to meet the author! Not bad at all…

Reading for the Love of It 2010

Will you be attending Reading for the Love of It this year? The conference will be taking place on February 11-12, 2010 at the Sheraton Centre in downtown Toronto.

Tundra will be at booth #431 to tell you about our new and upcoming books! You can come by to pick up catalogues, F&Gs (Folded & Gathered pages), chapbooks, posters, postcards, and bookmarks. We will also have author signings at our booth!

On Friday, Feburary 12th at 11:00am, J. Torres will be signing chapbooks of Alison Dare, The Heart of the Maiden. Then at 1pm, Monica Kulling will be signing finished copies of It’s a Snap! Finally, at 2pm, we have Theo Caldwell signing finished copies of Finn the half-Great.

Celebrating Our Natural Sizes

National Eating Disorders Awareness Week is February 1st to 7th. Ask a teacher or librarian to help you find books about eating disorders or talk to your doctor if you have any questions.

Author and illustrator, Lesley Fairfield, shares her experience in Tyranny:

Lesley’s personal thirty-year struggle with anorexia and bulimia has informed her work concerning body image, which has appeared in Dance in Canada magazine and in York University’s International Women’s Studies Journal.

Family Literacy Day

In addition to Family Literacy Day, two renowned authors were born on this day! Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, better known through his pseudonym, Lewis Carroll, was born in 1832 and Mordecai Richler was born in 1931. Why not celebrate their books with your family today?
