2023 ALA Annual Conference

Hello book lovers! The Tundra Books team is headed to ALA’s Annual Conference and Exhibition happening in Chicago on June 22nd to June 27th. We’ll be showcasing many of our wonderful titles at booth 2715! Come by and say hello to our Marketing and Publicity Senior Associate, Sam Devotta; our Marketing and Publicity Associate Director, Sylvia Chan; our Associate Publisher, Elizabeth Kribs; our Publisher, Tara Walker; and our CEO Kristin Cochrane!

Saturday, June 24th

From 10:30am to 11:20am at the Graphic Novel/Gaming Stage (next to booth 1326), join author Ben Clanton for the Booklist Graphic Novels Panel, Part I.

From 1:00pm to 1:50pm at the Author Autographing Station 4, join Ben Clanton for a signing of A Super Scary Narwhalloween.

Sunday, June 25th

From 10:30am to 11:20am at the Diversity in Publishing Stage (next to booth 5240), join author Deke Moulton for a talk on Anti-Semitism and Re-Writing Stories in Middle Grade.

From 12:30pm to 1:20pm at the Graphic Novel/Gaming Stage (next to booth 1326), join author Ben Clanton for Putting the ‘Sea’ in Comics: Ben Clanton Talks Narwhal and Jelly and Comics for Young Readers.

From 2:30pm to 3:30pm in McCormick Place (Room W183a), join author Jackie Khalilieh for a panel on Advancing Social Justice With Young Adult Literature.

Monday, June 26th

From 10:30am to 11:20am at the Chapter One Stage (Next to Booth 1342), join author Jackie Khalilieh for a talk on YA Romance for the Neurodiverse.

Signings:

We will also be hosting signings at booth 2715! This is based on first come, first serve. One copy per person while quantities last and you must be in line for the signing to receive a complimentary copy.

2018 ALA Annual Conference

alalogoPenguin Random House Canada Young Readers is exhibiting at ALA Annual this year in New Orleans! Please say “hello” to our amazing Associate Director of Marketing & Publicity, Vikki VanSickle. Give our Marketing & Publicity Manager, Sylvia Chan, a high five. And greet our Publisher, Tara Walker, with a fresh beignet at booth #2048. Actually, they’ll all take a beignet if you offer them. In exchange, they will be happy to tell you about our 2018 books or to answer any questions you may have and load your arms with lots of great giveaways!

From our Spring 2018 list, we still have lots of Winter Is a Scream buttons featuring four of our spooky middle-grade novels including The Strange and Deadly Portraits of Bryony Gray and The Dark Missions of Edgar Brim: Monster. We also have From the Heart of Africa art cards, Sakura’s Cherry Blossoms postcards, Tilly and Tank posters, Trampoline Boy posters, Petra magnets, and Peanut Butter and Jelly place mats.

Check out our Summer 2018 books and pick up some Anne’s Colors and Anne’s Numbers art cards, Blood Will Out bookmarks, Clara Voyant horoscope bookmarks, Red Sky at Night posters, Hedgehog door hangers, and If a Horse Had Words art cards! Seriously, there’s a lot of goodies at our booth!

Then, there’s an early look at our Fall 2018 list. We have some handy luggage tags featuring Anne Arrives, bookmarks for The Ghost Road, posters for Go Show the World and Goodnight, Anne. There’s also this fabulous chore wheel for Sir Simon: Super Scarer. What about ARCs? Well, we’ll be handing out ones for Confessions of a Teenage Leper and Kens.

Wait, that’s not all! We have author signings in our booth too. Copies of the books are complimentary, but it’ll only be available while quantities last. So come early to make sure you don’t miss out.

2016 ALA Annual Conference

ALAMy how time flies! For those of you planning your ALA Annual schedule already, we wanted to let you know that Tundra Books will be exhibiting at the conference. Please visit Pamela and Vikki in the exhibit hall at booth #2331 to learn about our new and upcoming books – and to pick up notepads, dry-erase calendars, buttons, educators’ guides, posters, art cards, recipe cards, ARCs, and more!

Here are some events you should make note of to attend:

  • At the Book Buzz Theater on Saturday, June 25, 2016 from 12:30 – 1:15 pm, Ben Clanton will be presenting Narwhal.
  • Ben Clanton will be signing Narwhal on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 2:00 pm at booth 2331.
  • Vikki VanSickle will be signing If I Had a Gryphon on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at 11:30 am at booth 2331.

If I Had a GryphonFor the author and illustrator signings at our booth, we will be handing out complimentary copies of the books at a first come, first serve basis. So don’t forget, there’s a limited number of signed books.

NarwhalAnd if you picked up your 2016 Aisle-by-Aisle coupon book, make sure you drop off your entry to win a podtastic Narwhal gift package!
