The TD Canadian Children’s Book Week 2013 tour runs Saturday, May 4 to Saturday, May 11, 2013. TD Canadian Children’s Book Week is a national event celebrating Canadian children’s books and the importance of reading. Over 25,000 children, teens and adults participate in activities held in every province and territory across the country. Hundreds of schools, public libraries, bookstores, and community centres host events as part of this major literary festival.
The following Tundra and Fenn/Tundra authors will be touring next week:
- Marthe Jocelyn
- Ron Lightburn
- Richard Scrimger
- Lorna Schultz Nicholson
You can check to see which authors and illustrators will be touring in your province by clicking here.
The theme of this year’s Book Week is All the Bookshelf’s a Stage: Celebrating the Performing Arts. And more great news! Marthe Jocelyn and daughter Nell Jocelyn have been chosen to illustrate the TD Children’s Book Week promotional materials, which will be distributed to the hundreds of participating venues across Canada. Learn a bit more about them in this interview.
You can read about the experience from our authors, Jan Andrews and Karen Patkau, who toured in 2012.

I had to give you five stars because I am a Richard Scrimger fan – what a great fit he is for All the Bookshelf’s a stage. I’ve actually linked this post of yours to my post about him speaking to a group of students just weeks ago. He is a true performer who brings stories to life and motivates kids. Kudos to TD Canadian Children’s Book Week for all of the years you have been bringing books to kids!
